Ellis worked as a rehearsal-stage floor manager, marking exact positions with tape while performers ignored them. He started playing after clearing the chairs each night, using the same taped marks to measure cuts. Prismatics noticed that the quiet person resetting the room could make five louder people lose track of where he was.
