Backstory
Amara built the Basement Nine exhibition crew around reliable spotters rather than the loudest lifters. She invited these four because each offered a different kind of control. She still writes their training sessions in a notebook titled "Reasonable Requests."
What drives them
Turn five impressive individuals into a team she does not have to rescue personally.
Allies, rivals & friction
Inez resents being managed; Amara refuses to manage her ego for her. Imani recognizes another expert in supporting weight, and their respectful contest can become the fiercest matchup.
Room to grow
Must delegate before a crisis, rather than learning only to carry a larger load.
The signature
Crowd Press
She secures a rebound at her chest. One defender grips the ball with both hands. With planted feet, Amara presses it overhead, briefly lifting the clinging opponent a short distance off the floor; they release and land before she resumes play.
The rules & the counter
Exactly one hanging opponent and one short lift. Their grip causes the lift. No adhesive bodies, distorted limbs or lifting the crowd. A second defender can strip her while she is planted.
The weakness
She assumes she can calmly solve an extra problem and delays the simple outlet pass.

Runs back while hitting a neat double-biceps pose, smugly certain the rep was clean.

Signature wardrobe
Black tactile mesh tanks with acid-yellow framing and large acid-yellow numbers; black above-knee shorts with acid-yellow panels; real worn black lifting belts; black socks and black/acid-yellow shoes. Current black/gold lettered HBL shield on wearer-right chest and angular weight-plate M crest on wearer-left chest. Enormous superheavyweight musculature.
