At the Basement Nine gym, Inez built her reputation moving equipment that taller lifters asked someone else to carry. She began keeping a handwritten list of people who called her "surprisingly strong." She considers the adverb an insult.

Earn unqualified respect, then learn that creating someone else's basket still proves her power.

Darius converts her screens and flatters her just enough to keep her passing. Arjun's casual height feels like a personal boast; Imani's refusal to take the bait enrages her more.

The signature
No Entry
She plants both feet wide, folds her arms tightly and flexes. A much larger moving opponent hits her torso screen and stops or staggers. Inez stays on the same floor marks; a teammate uses the cleared lane.

It works only after she is fully planted. A sidestep beats her; a moving Inez can be displaced. She cannot magnetize, root through the floor or halt a whole group.
