Profile
Backstory
Orrin bound handmade campaign books for Black Lantern and inserted elaborate chapter titles into even the simplest rules. He began playing basketball to spend more time with the group and discovered that his height made him a natural high-post passing target. He now considers a useful outlet the first chapter of an epic, which is kind but exhausting.
What drives them
Make the unglamorous enabling pass feel heroic, then learn that teammates sometimes need the pass before the title.
Allies, rivals & friction
Petra tolerates his narration because he reliably holds position. Yuna supplies too many tempting side chapters. Bruno Costa sees the same usefulness and would prefer fewer words. Viktor Rusk’s sincere politeness makes Orrin’s grand pronouncements sound even grander.
Room to grow
Can leave the heroic moment unnamed and discover that its recipient understood perfectly.
The signature
You Shall Pass
He receives the ball high at the elbow, forms a huge still triangular target with his arms, then lowers the ball sharply into a between-the-legs bounce pass to a cutter using a clear real floor lane.
The rules & the counter
He holds the ball high with ordinary arms, then bounces it through a clear gap between his own planted legs to an actual cutter. A defender can block the floor lane, deflect the ball or force him to turn. No portal, impossible bounce or pass through another body.
The weakness
He can become so pleased by a play’s symbolic meaning that he telegraphs where the real pass will go.
When it works
The celebration
Spreads one empty hand toward the receiver as if opening an enormous, entirely imaginary door.
When it falls apart
The losing reaction
Announces that the chapter requires revision, then offers a sincere and very ordinary apology for the late pass.
The constants
Always this character
Adult 34-year-old mixed South Asian and white man, mature long face, warm brown skin and broad 205 cm athletic frame; long wavy dark hair, full beard with silver chin stripe, small wire-frame glasses and sincere scholarly warmth. Real high-post passing and unnecessarily grand chapter titles remain his defining skills.
Face, front, side & back
Player photos
Tall broad athletic mixed South Asian and white man, 34 years old and 205 cm; warm brown skin, mature long face and deep-set dark eyes behind small round wire-frame glasses. Long voluminous wavy black hair loosely drawn back, full black beard with a conspicuous silver chin section and a narrow silver-centered beard braid; established arm and left-shin tattoos remain. He studies a miniature with warm, disproportionate seriousness.
Signature wardrobe
Open short-sleeve plaid shirt over the black/plum/ice number 77 basketball jersey, brown suspenders and generous athletic shorts, striped socks and unbranded court shoes. A book-filled canvas tote, knit layer and miniature figure are entrance props. No bag, hard miniature or loose suspender remains in active play.
Entrance look. Loose accessories are secured or removed for play.
